I’m excited to finally share some big news: Smoked Q has officially rebranded to Rocks BBQ. This move reflects exactly where I’ve wanted to take the brand all along—building a backyard-first company with clean ingredients and small-batch quality—now under a name that matches our spirit: Rocks BBQ, where bold flavor meets backyard eats.
Why the Switch?
Rocks BBQ was always the name I wanted from the start. Years ago, the domain just wasn’t attainable (it was priced over $2,000), so I launched as Smoked Q and kept things moving. When the domain finally came back around, the timing was right, and it felt like the perfect moment to make the change. As the brand grew, it became clear that Rocks BBQ simply made more sense for the future.
What’s Launching Today
We’re kicking things off by rolling out new labels and packaging for the original trio of rubs that built this brand:
I chose these three to lead the way because they’ve been our foundation from day one. Starting with a tight launch lets us scale the right way. More blends will return based on demand, and if you still want a piece of history, there’s a limited amount of Smoked Q inventory out there for a short while longer.
What’s Changing (and What Isn’t)
Behind the scenes, I’ve partnered with a manufacturing team to help us keep up with demand while holding true to the small-batch standards that matter most to me. The goal is simple: protect the flavor you love and improve consistency as we grow.
The recipes remain true to the originals—any tweaks were minor and only made because of ingredient sourcing, not to cut corners. And with this rebrand, I’ve streamlined everything under @cookwithrock, where you’ll continue to find recipes, tips, and plenty of backyard BBQ antics.

- Your favorites first. Anytime, Coffee Rub, and Hey Boo! Honey Rub are back with a new look—but the same flavor you’ve been shaking on ribs, brisket, wings, and more.
